Can Art become something that reaches beyond the ability to see and be seen? How about, feeling or carrying, traveling with art?

The new dimension given to humans – or maybe as old as history – comes in the form of Art Jewelry.

Humans have been using jewelry for self expression since long time ago. For the most time, jewelry has been a representation of wealth or social position. For example, the heavier the jewelry the richest the person who wore it. After WW2, jewelry moved on to a new dimension and instead of being an indicator of class and social hierarchy it became a means of expression. It became a form of modern art.  Like fashion, people chose to wear whatever expressed their feelings as well as their personal way of being within society; it was an act against social pressure. From harajuku fashion to contemporary fine jewelry, people from around the world wear things not only as a means of adornment but also as a way to transfer a message

Making Jewelry is a process that involves creativity, thoughtfulness, aesthetics, politics. The creator wants to transfer a message and the person who wears the jewelry artwork is the communicator of the message.

The beauty lies in that since jewelry is a portable form of art, it means that the one who wears it can carry it around the world while traveling, thus spreading the message worldwide to the rest of the people who see it.

Art Jewelry can feel like world’s global language.

Every piece of jewelry may involve history, inner pain, thoughts, cultural traits, art movements, innovations and colors. It can involve a combination of different forms of art like sculpture and architecture, all laid out on a person’s body who is the carrier of human process.

Choosing  to wear something which bears deep meanings definitely indicates something about one’s personality or cultural background and might as well help to build their social presence. A choice is never random but always entails personal views. Jewelry can be a key to someone’s inner kingdom.
