Nikos Kokkalis was born in Corfu, Greece, in 1966. Ηe studied at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1984-1989). In 1993 and for two years he was a postgraduate student on scholarship, obtained from the National Scholarships Foundation, under the supervision of professor Nikos Kessanlis. He is a Ph.D. of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University (2016). Title of thesis: “Light and Installations - The use of the minimum natural light source in interactive video-installations”. In 2006 together with Marilena Koskina they create “OKKO” group, in order to involve and sensitize citizens on social issues through Art. He has per-formed 8 solo exhibitions and more than 25 set designs.
