Handwoven talisman Africa

Long pendant from the collection“weaving talisman” worked with the technique of micro weaving  with linen threads in shades of beige, orange, mustard and handmade tassel.There are glass beads in the cord.The length can be fluctuated.

I was born and grew up in Athens. Since I was a child  I was embroidering and knitting having a special relationship and love for the colored threads. I studied photography and I worked as a photojournalist. In the early 90s I was first involved with the loom and plant paints, making tapestries  of large dimensions, exhibited in Aegina. In 2006 I began to attend jewelry making seminars (metal), working at the same time.

Two years ago I did weaving lessons. Since then this haw been the technique  I work my jewelery with.

I try to apply this traditional technique in today's way and style. I use natural materials, cotton, linen, silk, and semi-precious stones.
